Still & Box Alarm - March 7, 2008, 9:31 AM Chicago, IL This fire was in a 1 story, L-shaped building used as a silk flower distributing warehouse. The fire started in the center of the building and quickly spread throughout the structure. The silk flowers burning produced a very heavy, toxic white smoke which prevented the Chicago firemen from entering the building to fight the fire.

CHICAGO,IL. 5-11 ALARM PLUS 5 SPECIALS.
THIS B&W PHOTO IS BACK FROM THE 1960'S,OF A FIRE IN A 5 STORY FACTORY WAREHOUSE.THE FIRE WAS SO HEAVY THAT IT PRODUCED A TOWER OF FIRE THAT WENT 100 FEET INTO THE SKY.
THIS WAS AT A TIME WHEN CHICAGO'S FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD SOME AMAZING FIRE TRUCK UNITS LIKE ( BIG JOHN ).A FIRE PIPE UNIT THAT COULD TAKE 8 HEAVY HOSE LINES INTO IT AND SHOOT A STREAM OF WATER
500 FEET UP TO REACH HIGH FIRES.
